Awarded an MRC Doctoral Training Partnership with Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and Lancaster University to commence in 2018. Research project will entail looking at setting up the first pneumoccocal challenge study in a low-middle income country- 7 years research nurse experience in human challenge and vaccine trials- Extensive experience in the setup and management of controlled human infection model (CHIM) at the University of Oxford using Salmonella Typhi and Salmonella Paratyphi bacteria- Clinical role in leading large, industry- and university-sponsored vaccine clinical trials including phase I trials for new vaccines against Ebola, meningococcus and RSV- Clinical project management training and skill including resource planning, risk management, working with stakeholders and regulatory submissions- Substantial ability managing, mentoring and supervising clinical research teams including line management, recruitment and selection of staff, coaching nurses to lead their own projects, performance development reviews and appraisals- Trainer and assessor of clinical skills (venepuncture, immunisation, cannulation and medical examination/assessment) and research skills (consent, GCP, monitoring, leadership in clinical trials, research governance and project management)- Familiarity working with monitors and auditors and preparing and responding to MHRA and Sponsor audits- Significant experience producing SOPs, protocols, clinical procedures manuals, eCRFs and reports- Capability in creating clinical trials budgets, reviewing contracts and managing clinical spending.
