ABOUT DANIELLE ECCLESHALL-JOHNSON

I am an Associate Member of CIEEM, with extensive fieldwork and desk-based experience gained from working nine years full time in the ecological consultancy sector. During this time, I have worked on various scheme types including pipelines and water-based infrastructure, residential developments, rail, energy-based, and highways infrastructure including several Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs).Through experience gained on work projects and through commitments to regular voluntary work, I hold survey licences for great crested newt (CL08), white clawed crayfish (CL11) and hazel dormouse (CL10a). I have also achieved Level 4 of the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland’s (BSBI’s) Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC), which allows me to lead on UK Habitat (UKHab) classification and habitat condition assessment surveys required for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments. I specialise in project and framework management, protected species surveys, ecological reporting including checking as a part of the quality assurance process, and the design of protected species mitigation, with a particular focus on mitigation licences for great crested newts. I also have a particular interest in riparian species ecology, focusing on water voles, otters, white-clawed crayfish, and beavers.
