ABOUT DANIELLE BARRETTE

As a Career Navigator Coordinator for Troy Continuing Education, I lead the career services for diverse group of 700+ adult English Language learners. Our program helps internationally trained professionals re-skill by obtaining an industry recognized credential. I help unlock access to job opportunities and how to navigate the U.S. job market. I have utilized my HR passion by designing and facilitating an innovative, project-based, instructor-led training simulation that infuses vital soft skills and a rewards and recognition program within the curriculum. This prepares jobseekers understanding employment expectations through workforce readiness projects including mock interviews and feedback. I established a timekeeping system, calculate simulated payroll, embedded soft skills and an on/off boarding experience. I developed this training as a scaled learning solution using the ADDIE instructional design method. I also teach a Human Resources Certification Prep course leading group discussions, role play and lectures surrounding HR competencies. My work portfolio includes designing online instructor-led training in the automotive industry for Volkswagen of America\'s Technical Training program. I assisted with all facets of RGIS Inventory Specialists headquarters talent acquisition program, employee on/offboarding, employee relations, benefit related inquiries and maintaining employee records. I advised over 300 nationwide offices with day-to-day performance management guidance concerning hiring decisions and termination process as it relates to disabilities, convictions, I-9s, and performance management. I investigated discrimination, sexual harassment, grievances, and unfair termination claims and compiled EEO-1 and AAP compliance data. At Bright Horizons and GP Strategies, I generated opportunities for employers to up-skill their workforce through workforce strategies. I supported over 200 clients managing their tuition reimbursement benefit. I helped power workforce education initiatives by building strategic partnerships and negotiating corporate discounts between higher education institutions and training providers on behalf of Fortune 500 clients while cultivating strong partnership networks. This translated to a compelling story affecting the financial wellness of workforce employees as they pursued their educational goals, at lower out of pocket costs, through their employer-sponsored funding. I am extremely proud & continually inspired through my work that touches so many in powerful ways.
