Bilingual professional (English/Spanish) with over 20 years of experience driving organizational growth, operational excellence, and strategic transformation in complex, fast-paced environments. I excel at building and leading high-performing teams, creating and executing strategic roadmaps, negotiating contracts, and managing P&L responsibilities for budgets exceeding $1 billion.I am passionate about identifying opportunities to overcome challenges, reduce costs while boosting efficiency, and inspiring teams to achieve their personal and professional best. As the EVP at NSU, I lead a team that increased efficiency through cost-cutting and revenue enhancement. I have disposed of inefficient buildings and built new efficient ones in key areas of growth like Florida, Colorado, and Nevada. Previously, as a City of Miami executive, I led a major organizational turnaround by recruiting top talent and equipping teams to deliver exceptional services to residents. My efforts were recognized at NSU when I was named Executive of the Year in 2020 and in the City of Miami where the South Florida Chapter of the American Society for Public Administrators (ASPA) named me Administrator of the Year in 2015.Highlights of my leadership impact include:At NSU, I negotiated the sale of inefficient assets that brought $22 million in cash, reduced operating expenses by annually and avoided millions of capital cost related to required 40-year certifications.Changed the organizations structure to increase efficiency and renegotiated contracts that improved services and reduced annual operating expenses by over $2M annually.Directed and coordinated the teams that added a 609-bed residential facility at our main campus, and expanded campus facilities by sq. ft. in Clearwater, Denver, and Las Vegas.At the City of Miami, I facilitated the hiring of 400+ police officers and 300+ firefighters, removing obstacles in HR processes.Increased city cash reserves from 3% to over 20%($13M to $150M) and improved bond rating from to AA over five years.Created and directed the team that successfully campaigned to obtain voter approval of a $400 million general obligation bond for sustainable projects.I thrive in roles where strategic thinking, operational leadership, and team empowerment intersect, and I am always looking for ways to deliver tangible results that drive organizational success.
