ABOUT DANIEL HEBLIK

Having completed my philosophy and classical philology degree, I was ready to address the challenges of the business world and became an entrepreneur. I refounded a software company as shareholder and CEO. The experience of working at the interface of academia and business led me, together with colleagues from the University and the University Hospital of Tübingen, to establish the first 100-day start-up accelerator program in Tübingen in 2015, based on models in Silicon Valley and Singapore. The program turned out a great success, was repeated yearly, and was able to acquire funding from the federal and local government. In 2016 I took over management of the Medical Innovations Incubator GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the non-profit Medical Innovations Foundation, to ensure the sustainable development of start-ups and to support the translation of innovative, scientific research into business. In 2017 I became Managing Director of this very Foundation and established, together with partners from Mannheim and Heidelberg, the Life Science Accelerator Baden-Württemberg to foster high potential start-ups. After years of working closely together with the academic world I took on a position as startup coach and consultant at the University of Tübingen in 2020. All those activities have the same goal: supporting students and scientists on their path to becoming successful entrepreneurs - and let their ideas become reality.
