ABOUT DANIEL FOSTER

In 2017, I graduated with honours from SAIT’s architectural technology program. At SAIT I honed my skills in design, construction documentation, material take-offs, 3D modelling and building science. I\'m fluent in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, various rendering programs and the Adobe suite of creative software. After finishing school, I was offered a role with DIALOG’s commercial team in Calgary. In this role, I was responsible for creating presentation graphics, building code reviews, and, of course, the creation of accurate construction drawings and details. I am developing an advanced understanding of design principles and terminology, project requirements, methods and best practices, building science, BIM coordination and the Alberta and National building codes. In alignment with DIALOG’s 2030 commitment to net zero development, I attained my LEED BD+C accreditation and have worked as a LEED consultant on several LEED-certificated projects. At DIALOG, SAIT and now START Architecture, I\'ve developed an understanding and working knowledge of CAD software systems, especially Autodesk Revit. I have an advanced understanding of design principles, terminology, project requirements, methods, and practices as well as a specialist’s understanding of the LEED certification process and sustainable design. I\'m knowledgeable about the design process and I can manage time, the scope of a project, and project complexities appropriately and autonomously
