About Daniel Ford
I’m an engineer passionate about technology that touches the physical world. If it can sense or act on its environment, I’m interested- Robots of all stripes- Embedded processors in everything from cars to ATMs, toys, and farm tractors- Sensors and apps that let smartphones measure the world- Learning software that discovers patterns hidden in mountains of real-world data.I’ve programmed a robot to learn how to explore its environment; I built another robot that plays drums. I\'ve coded neural networks from scratch to compensate for malfunctioning truck wheels and keep robot insects “alive”. I’ve used microcontrollers and a handful of LEDs to create facial expressions for a robot designed to greet VIPs. I also know that whatever my strengths are, they get better in a team. I love working with other skilled and curious professionals to make new discoveries and create cool technology.
