About Dan Fitzgerald

As a Foreign Affairs Officer at the U.S. Department of State, I leverage my skills in policy analysis and government relations to support the Office of Foreign Assistance, Western Hemisphere Team. I have over three years of experience in this role, where I work closely with various stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of foreign assistance programs, while utilizing strong financial and program management skills to maintain execution and completion of multi-billion-dollar program portfolios. For example, I was successfully in conducting cross-team data analysis to secure $150 million in seed funding for new, White House-driven, international initiative.Prior to this, I served with USAID for over two and half years covering a range of portfolios, including the Middle East and Climate Change portfolios. I successfully represented the agency in multiple negotiations with Congress and the National Security Council to secure funding priorities for the USAID Administrator. I hold a Bachelor\'s degree in International Studies and Economics from American University, which has equipped me with a strong foundation in global affairs and economic principles, and I am an alum of the David L. Boren Scholarship. Passionate about using my skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the world.
