ABOUT DANIELE TRENTINI

I have a Master degree in Electronic Engineering and I worked 17 years in Marconi and Ericsson (Telco Company) as System Design Manager. For nine years, I was the R&D Manager of SIRTI to then become Innovation Manager. In this capacity, I am also responsible for Funded Programs and liaising with international associations like UNIFE, ERA, and the European Commission. I hold the rights of 7 patents in the field of telecommunications, railway signalling, and automation granted in USA, Europe and China. I was a member of the “Network of the End User” in the NGTC (FP7, EU funded project). I am Responsable for the Shift2Rail activities of Sirti and the technical leader of three projects in IP2 pillar of H2020/Shift2Rail: MISTRAL, ETALON and ASTRail. I have been selected by the European Commission as one of the 60 members composing the \"Expert Group on Competitiveness of the Rail Supply Industry\" whose task shall be to assist and advise The European Commission in promoting the competitiveness of the EU Rail Supply Industry. In February 2021 the Sirti Transportation Division was acquired by the MERMEC SPA and became a newco MER MEC STE. From November 2022 I am PMO and PE ERTMS. As Project Management Officer (PMO) I am responsible for the development and maintenance of the R&D signalling project execution. This includes review and improvement of existing work processes, templates, tools, reporting, training, and auditing to drive better and more consistent approach to execution. As Project Engineer ERTMS lines (PE ERTMS) I am technical responsible of the design of railway ERTMS lines (including the signalling, the energy, and the TELCO) working directly with clients to ensure high quality solutions delivery as well as leading technical teams.
