ABOUT DAN BRADEN-ASTBURY

Most of my job is helping smart people make hard things work under real-world pressure.I lead operations at Whitespace, supporting teams that build and deploy AI in environments where failure is not an option, including defence, national security, and regulated industries. Our focus is sovereign AI for classified and air-gapped settings, where trust, assurance, and control matter in practice.I care about the people building the technology and those relying on it. My role is to help turn ambitious ideas into systems that fit real operational pressures and accountability. Before Whitespace, I spent close to 20 years leading complex operational and technology programmes. I began in the British Army, moved into G4S, and then spent around 14 years at Securitas Technology, building and leading global operations across more than 40 countries for critical infrastructure, pharmaceutical, and logistics organisations.A consistent thread in my career is a simple belief, the best technology is useless if it cannot be operationalised. At Whitespace, that means taking AI out of the lab and into sovereign, secure, and auditable environments that support the people who depend on them.I also advise investors and boards through networks such as GLG and AlphaSights. If you are working on complex problems where people, technology, and accountability intersect, I am always open to connecting.
