Worked alongside community members in the Little Village, North Lawndale, and Austin communities of Chicago organizing lesson plans, materials lists, and learning objectives that facilitate participants’ learning within community programs and special events designed to engage community members and partner organizations with meaningful experiences that promote conservation actions. Co-facilitated community programs and planning meetings with staff from partner organizations, and lead the facilitation of workshops, field trips, supply ordering and deliveries for programs both on and off zoo grounds. Supported the supervision of paid community interns and contracted community educators that support the zoo’s community programs.

ABOUT DANIELA TOVAR-MIRANDA
With a background in environmental studies and journalism, I combine these two areas of study to persuade my passion on conveying messages to engage communities in conservation action and environmental education.
