ABOUT DANIELA FREDRICK
During development, many companies face issues with their materials-based technologies but are unable to determine the root cause resulting in inefficient advances and failures. Many problems can be solved using advanced instrumentation along with skilled user of the tools. I not only have access to many tools including SEMs/FIB, TEMs, XRDs, mechanical testing equipment, deposition, lithography and many more, I also have years of experience with testing and development. Investing in characterization not only improves results but is also financial beneficial. Challenging projects are my passion. I have worked in zero-g with NASA on the \'vomit comet\', attained a security clearance with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and spent two years as a technical lead with Apple both in the States and overseas. I have become an internationally known expert in two fields of materials engineering - sapphire and consolidation of materials using electric current and pressure. I am available for consulting and have access to characterization equipment as listed below. Key Expertise: Sapphire - annealing, failure analysis, and characterization Heat treating – small and large batch Characterization (Most analytical techniques listed are currently available) SEM, BSE, TEM/STM, XRD, DSC, DTA, TGA, UV/Vis, FTIR, Optical, Laser Microscope, hardness Sample preparation Metallography Process Development Calibration and test designs Consolidation of materials Equipment (commercial/high throughput and R&D)
