Hi! I\'m Daniel Zheng, a Princeton University student and a Stuyvesant alumnus. I intend on studying economics while pursuing minors in finance and OQDS. I live in Brooklyn, but I\'ve spent most of my childhood in Manhattan, so I am a Manhattan person at heart. I live with my parents, who immigrated to the US in 2003, and two older sisters. Outside of school and work, I love going to the gym, and I\'m a diehard Barcelona and Steph Curry fan. Coming from a first-generation, low-income background where English was not my native language, navigating the complex professional and corporate systems of America was very difficult. I didn\'t have connections to fall back on, and though I had confidence in my ability to find the right career path that suited me, breaking into prestigious careers seemed more distant than perhaps it really was. This perspective was changed in my senior year of high school. After rigorous and eye-opening experiences in challenging finance-related courses, I began to understand and break down the intersection of finance, business, and society, which was equally driven by the intellectual curiosity I cultivated through four years of high school debate. After getting accepted into the ATLAS Fellow program, I was able to look into the world of finance through a completely new lens. At Balyasny, where I was a member of the geopolitical risk team, I analyzed asymmetric risk predictors and global market trends to anticipate and translate tail risk events and market opportunities to guide multiple investment strategies. This took the form of live responses to PM requests, consistent updates on important geopolitical catalysts, and thematic and quantitative research that targeted geopolitical flashpoints. My work culminated in a tariff tracker, which was a comprehensive risk scenario analysis model that monitored trillions of dollars worth of trade to measure how tariffs would or could impact industries, sectors, and markets. My experiences and references serve as indicators of my ability to adapt to any role and make immediate, effective contributions tangibly in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. I\'m constantly searching for new opportunities for growth, new challenges to overcome, and new environments to thrive.
