Daniel is a partner in McInnes Cooper’s Halifax, Nova Scotia office. His practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation, admiralty and maritime law and energy. Daniel has advocated for clients before various courts and tribunals, including the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, and the Federal Court.Daniel has represented clients in numerous sectors of the marine industry, including oil and mineral exploration companies, banks and other marine financial institutions, marine insurers, protection and indemnity clubs and hull insurers, ship owners and charterers, cargo owners, stevedores, port authorities, salvors, ship operators and managers, and freight forwarders. Daniel received his Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) in political science from Dalhousie University (2005) and his Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie Law School (2008). While at law school, Daniel was recognized with numerous awards, including the Law Foundation of Nova Scotia Scholarship, the J.S.D. Tory Award, and the Justice Ronald J. Pugsley Trial Advocacy Award.
