ABOUT DANIEL WALKER

I am a curriculum leader currently serving as Head of PSHCE across Years 7 to 13 in a large secondary school, with responsibility for personal development provision for over 1,600 students. My work focuses on curriculum design and staff development, with a growing emphasis on digital literacy and the implications of emerging technologies for education. I recently completed an MSc in Education specialising in teachers’ perspectives on AI, and I am using this research to inform curriculum thinking, professional dialogue and pilot initiatives within my school.I am particularly interested in how schools design personal development and wellbeing curricula that are coherent, scalable and credible, rather than reactive or compliance driven. My strengths lie in building strong team cultures, reflective practice, and applying a deep understanding of how people learn to curriculum and professional learning design.Alongside my school leadership role, I have extensive experience in football coaching across school, university and community settings. I hold a UEFA B Licence and was awarded Coach of the Year at Loughborough University in 2022, as well as New Teacher of the Year in 2024.I am experienced in a range of educational and performance contexts, including secondary teaching (PSHCE, Physical Education and History), university sport, youth and open-age football, disability and inclusive sport, and staff development. I am increasingly focused on roles that allow me to lead at scale, shape curriculum and policy, and contribute to wider conversations about the future of education.
