I work in marketing & sales. More times than not these titles are written with sales as the lead in, i.e. sales & marketing, I however, always say I work in marketing & sales. What difference does it make some might ask? Well, in the past sales was simply the act of blanketing a massive amount of the populous with your wares, hoping to achieve a sale by any means necessary. While marketing was usually reserved for the advertising campaigns run through Madison Avenue types with little buyer engagement other than brand awareness. We all know this is not an ideal method of success in the arena of today’s actively engaged buyers. I provide the most streamlined approach to prospecting through segmenting, targeting, and qualifying prospective customers prior to making initial contact. This is the necessary method to ensure only the candidates most suited to purchasing your products are contacted. So why would you ever put sales before marketing even in a title?
