ABOUT DANIEL TUCKER BAILEY

Both as a student and in my professional work thus far, I have maintained a focus upon science and the environment - particularly the importance of addressing the threat of climate change.Professionally, this has involved working as a Climate Education Intern for the University of Exeter, where I underwent project management training in order to help design, write content for and launch a climate literacy training course; working as a Volunteer Campaign Coordinator with the Teach the Future campaign for climate education, where I helped to launch the campaign\'s teacher network, contributed to education and environment legislation, wrote content for the campaign\'s website and conducted various administrative duties; and working as a tutor, where I was responsible for planning and teaching lessons in the sciences and multiple other subjects to students from various age-groups and backgrounds.As a student, this has involved embarking on a BSc Marine Biology degree at the University of Exeter, during the first year of which I have studied modules in Marine Biology, Zoology, Ecology & Conservation, Evolution, Physiology and Genetics; during my second year, I will study modules in Marine Ecology, Biology of Aquatic Vertebrates, Exploitation of the Sea, Physical Ocean Processes, Animal Ecophysiology and Biodiversity & Conservation. Prior to this, I achieved A*ABBC in my A Levels, as well as an A grade in an EPQ concerning marine biology, evolutionary biology and palaeontology.Beyond this, I have also sought to support my local areas through volunteer work - serving as a volunteer cleaner for thirty hours a week at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent, and also as a traffic marshal at the Mass Vaccination Centre in Stithians, Cornwall, during the COVID-19 pandemic and also as a volunteer swimming coach for my local swimming club in Ashford - and have worked as a cleaner at an Asda supermarket in Penryn, Cornwall.I speak French to a high level by virtue of having lived and been educated in France for two years as a child, whilst I am also proficient in Spanish after studying it to A Level. In my role as a Climate Education Intern at the University of Exeter, I successfully underwent project management, health and safety regulations, diversity and inclusion, GDPR and Prevent duty training. In my role as a volunteer cleaner at the William Harvey Hospital, I successfully passed a DBS check.
