ABOUT DANIEL TEMPLETON

I am creative, conscientious, hard working and a good team player with over 2.5 years experience in an Edit Assistant role and have a background in animation. Last year I was an Edit Assistant at Wildspace Productions. In 2019/20 I was Assistant Editor for Chuggington series 6, a 52 episode animated comedy series for Cbeebies and Disney Junior. In the two Edit Assistant contracts I worked with NLE software such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut and Avid Media Composer. I have also used Premiere, Media Encoder, After Effects and Dragonframe in my animation/video work. I am experienced with Avid, using it for a range of tasks such as synching footage to sound on multiple edits/sequences, making audio selects, ingesting and logging media, creating playouts/deliverables and sharing them to clients, and examining colour space (using Davinci). At Wildspace, I supplied and supported the edit team for the major new high end Natural History series for Netflix “Our Oceans\", working mainly with Avid and Davinci. Part of my role was to organise and review footage, finding best moments in visuals and audio. At Chuggington my main role was tracking, ingesting, renaming and distributing all the UK and US dialogues to the Edit and Production teams. I was responsible for creating and maintaining a sound effects (Walla) library and researching dialogues and music for dubbing and mixing. I was also responsible for organising the labelling of footage, and dialogue recordings. I have an exceptional attention to detail and I have always had strong visual and auditory skills. I have knowledge and experience of file formats, checking import and export settings, tracking workflow progress, responding to changing priorities and working to tight deadlines with the post team. I am able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of the Edit team and Production team. At Chuggington I was working across multiple episodes with an international team. I have produced my own films/videos which include both Animation and live action. In my freelance work I am used to engaging with Clients and stakeholders and listening to their feedback. I enjoy enhancing footage with music, sound effects and graphics and have a good understanding of what makes an engaging video.
