ABOUT DANIEL STURGESS

Daniel is currently the Rabbi at St Albans United Synagogue, and works with the Events System & Publications at The United Synagogue and Marriage Authorisations at the Office of the Chief Rabbi. Previous employment includes: Family Educator for Seed, running programmes for parents and families of Sinai Primary School; Campus Branch Director for Aish UK in Birmingham; running educational and social programs and providing pastoral care for the Jewish students at the Birmingham universities. Daniel has created and delivered High Holy Days explanatory services for the United Synagogue over a 10 year period and recently organised highly successful Poland Trips for the Birmingham Jewish Community and St Albans US. Other employment history includes work as an actuary for the Prudential and as an analyst for IDT Europe. Education includes: Rabbinic Ordination from Yeshivat Aish HaTorah, Jerusalem. Ner LeElef Outreach Training Program Yeshivat Mir (20••••10) BSc Mathematics & European Study (Spanish) from University of Exeter,UK. His wife Alli is a CBT therapist, rebbetzen of St Albans US and the headteacher of the cheder. She is also a qualified graphic designer and trained life coach. Alli holds a BSc in Psychology from University of Wales, Swansea. Alli has studied and taught in various seminaries in Israel, has been a Housing Officer for the homeless in Cardiff and East London whilst qualifying in drugs awareness and counselling, and ran the Aish branch in Birmingham together with Daniel. Specialities: Daniel is known for his warm, friendly, genuine and down-to-earth personality. He is an articulate educator and an experienced and captivating public speaker, and has also completed a coaching (counselling) course and received Kashrut Hashgacha qualification. He has enjoyed success working with students, families as well as communities.
