ABOUT DANIEL SMITH

Director of PS2 and Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS).Daniel is a Director of PS2 and a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) with over 25 years of experience. He was instrumental in the formation of Prosurv in 2004 and ongoing successes through to the Acquisition by Cumming Group in 2019 following which he served on the UK management board of Cumming Management Group following Prosurv’s acquisition in 2019 through to 2024. They became one of the UK’s leading providers of Project and Cost Management, winning notoriety with a host of awards nationwide.Now a Director of PS2, Daniel endeavors to provide an unique exemplar service delivering on PS2’s core values of commitment, excellence, and honesty utilising his substantial experience to deliver for all Clients. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying from Staffordshire University and is an RICS Inspire Ambassador, regularly engaging with schools and colleges to promote the surveyor role and the RICS organisation. Additionally, Daniel serves as a Local Enterprise Partnership Volunteer, working alongside a local secondary school to develop strategies and harnessing his vast network of connections that support students in pursuing careers within the industry.As an industry external examiner for Liverpool John Moores University, Daniel supports their BSc Quantity Surveying programmes, including full-time, part-time, and degree apprenticeship courses.Daniel’s areas of expertise include project management and quantity surveying, having delivered numerous schemes across various sectors. Known for his keen eye for detail and leadership abilities, he excels at forming and guiding high performing teams through major projects to ensure high-quality service delivery. One of his most notable achievements was overseeing the New Bay Campus for Swansea University, where he personally managed the delivery of 2,417 student accommodation bed spaces and over square feet of academic floor space.More recently Daniel has acted as lead on the delivery of over 1m sq-ft of Industrial and Logistics each year for the last 7 years, both speculative and build to suit facilities.Daniel is also a member of the Board of Directors of Mylnhurst Preparatory School and Nursery where he supports the Senior Leadership Team in realising its strategic vision for the school with emphasise on Construction, Contract, maintenance and Health and Safety.
