The CIO Executive Council is a peer community dedicated to advancing the practice of IT leadership. Pathways is IDC’s executive development program designed to prepare the next generation of technology leaders. Sourcing Advisory Services helps organizations optimize technology investments by benchmarking vendor contracts and pricing. The European Executive Advisor Program pairs dedicated IDC experts directly with CIOs, providing tailored insights, strategic guidance, and personalized support aligned with each organization’s unique priorities and goals.Mr. Saroff has over twenty years of experience in senior-level positions in both consulting organizations and delivering technology. Prior to joining IDC, he served as the CIO for a major Massachusetts state agency, where he led the agency through cloud migrations, digital transformation, technology modernization, enterprise platform reengineering, security in-depth and zero trust, and defense and response to a major cyber-attack. He also held consulting positions at both Forrester and Gartner and was a IT Director at a major aerospace and defense company. Before joining IDC, he owned a private IT management consultancy.He also brings a scientific edge: Daniel co-founded a neuroscience research laboratory studying Alzheimer’s and published multiple peer-reviewed papers.
