As a Project Engineer my primary duties entail the technical oversight and management of offshore geotechnical ground investigations in addition to managerial responsibilities. Working closely with the Project Managers and offshore crews I am responsible for the following- Management of Client and Subcontractor relationships- Technical analysis for tendering- Pre-project Documentation (project execution plans etc)- Technical oversight, quality assurance and technical authority for offshore geotechnical operations including: CPT, Sampling, Coring, PBC Coring and in-situ testing- Onshore/offshore laboratory testing - including scheduling, derivation of parameters and quality assurance- Factual and interpretive report writing- Engineering and Design - Pile Capacity, Spudcan penetration- Training and mentoring of junior staffIn addition to my onshore role, I occasionally work offshore, managing the technical requirements, providing quality assurance, client interaction and assistance in the geotechnical laboratory for sample processing and analysis.
