Hired in 2012 as a Police Officer and promoted to Sergeant in 2014. Appointed Police Chief in July 2022As Chief of Police, I am responsible for the oversight of law enforcement for the city of Toledo. At full strength, the Toledo Police Department has 6 sworn officers (including myself) and 4 reserve officers. We encourage treating people with respect and fair consistent enforcement of state laws and city ordinances. I also have assisted in the proctoring of the MMPI and POST examinations during hiring processes of several agencies. In the capacity as a Crisis/Hostage Negotiator, I have been called upon to respond to a variety of \"people in crisis\" situations to assist in de-escalation and working with other officers and the individual in crisis to reach a peaceful resolution.
