Dynamics analysis Lead responsible for creating and integrating FEM models and running various random vibration, shock and acoustic environments for defining component specs and calculating dynamic interface loads and stresses. Created Nastran FEM models with shell and solid elements with inclusion of differential stiffness due to tank pressurization with Sol-400. Wrote Matlab tools to calculate acceleration responses from FRFs, interface loads from CBUSH FRFs, and dynamic VonMises stresses from stress FRFs. This allowed recomputing responses in Matlab for various environments without re-running Nastran. Wrote other tools to apply transient and random vibration interface loads on detailed solid breakout models getting out entire model stresses to compute margins of safety and fatigue life. Matlab tools able to read new Nastran HDF5 binary datasets, essential for very large datasets out to 2khz. Completed several analysis cycles and wrote high quality presentations and briefed DoD customer and industry partners.
