Delivering high‑quality, timely, and accurate IT and lab support that enables scientists work.What I do:Provide on-site end‑user support to troubleshoot and resolve issues with laboratory equipment, PCs, software, and related systems.Set up, configure, and deploy lab and IT equipment.Investigate and diagnose problems, performing research where needed to identify root causes and develop appropriate solutions.Manage the full lifecycle of service requests, incidents, and changes from end users, ensuring accurate logging, tracking, and closure.Deliver technical support, workarounds, and resolutions within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).Support and maintain end-user services to ensure the reliability and continuity of lab and office operations.Provide technical support for multi‑function devices, telephony equipment, and other specialised IT or lab-related hardware, escalating to vendors or internal support teams when required.Restore regular service as quickly as possible, minimising impact on business operations while maintaining high levels of service quality and availability.Participate in IT and lab‑related projects, contributing to change that aligns with business and scientific needs.Perform activities related to incident, problem, change, and configuration management, supporting Continual Service Improvement (CSI) processes.Assist with vendors and supply‑chain relationships that support laboratory technologies.Develop, own, and maintain technical site documentation, including asset inventories, change management records, and cyber/security policies.Promote cyber awareness within the customer and lab community to help protect systems, data, and operations.Contribute to “Lab of the Future” initiatives by supporting the evaluation and implementation of modern, digital lab solutions.
