ABOUT DANIEL NEILSON
Tell stories. That\'s all I do. Just tell stories. Mostly really interesting ones. I could throw around words such as \'consulting\' and \'strategy\', but it\'s all really simple. I started my career as a journalist, and it\'s still what I do. It\'s about finding the story and telling the story. Sometimes that\'s for a print magazine or a newspaper, sometimes that\'s for a brand or a tourist board. Sometimes it\'s just to tell my mates in the pub. Someone recently called my career \'squiggly\'. I\'ll take that as a compliment. Here are a few things I do now:> Head up the partnerships for the most beautiful magazine in the world: Sidetracked.> Jointly edit YHA\'s magazine, The Journey.> Freelance writer, contributing to magazines including National Geographic Traveller and The Guardian UK.> Write a lot of words for Sidetracked.> Produce two podcasts.> Editor of a beer magazine, with a massive circulation (news to come).> International editor at the Guardian Nigeria.> Publisher of Marie Claire Nigeria.> Special projects director at Sidetracked magazine, designing campaigns for Ford, Porsche, Visit California, Visit Austria and more. In the past, I\'ve:> Edited more than 30 guidebooks for Time Out.> Co-authored the Travel Writer\'s Field Guide, a guide to writing and storytelling> Hung out with the barra brava in Argentina for Four Four Two magazine.> Spent a million dollars on a TV ad.> Flown in helicopters in the Arctic.> Edited The Great Outdoors magazine.
