About Daniel Mora

Daniel has over 20 years of demonstrated history working with local government and community based non-profit organizations. Daniel (Danny) was born and raised in Oakland, CA, and understands firsthand how easily trouble can find young people of color. A once Juvenile on Probation, Daniel Mora is currently employed as a Juvenile Probation Officer. It is through his own transformative story, as a professionally trained motivational speaker, and workshop facilitator. Skilled in case management, strategic planning, youth development, event organizing, staff development, and working with families, that makes Daniel well rounded and able to lead in various capacities. Daniel is multi-cultural and bilingual in Spanish; able to read, write and translate, and able to connect with today’s most largest ethnic group. Daniel’s employment history is focused on public service, community solutions, and mentoring. Daniel is committed to the development of global community leadership by making local transformations. Devoted in recognizing and employing systems for positive change, and solutions in roles involving strong leadership, evidence-based practices and a community commitment.Daniel is also an artist: poet, story teller, play-writer, and stage performer. Daniel is currently working on two projects: An autobiography titled “Probationer turned Probation Officer”. Also, a short film titled, “AmERICa… what about Eric”. A film about his younger cousin that was killed at his own 18th birthday party. Daniel’s earliest outlet to his own youthful challenges was cultivated as a teen inside juvenile hall, and believes that art and story telling continues to be a way to reach youth today.
