Junior Economist on the analyst team at the UK Trade Remedies Authority (TRA). Conducting the Economic Interest Test (EIT). This analysis informs the TRA (and UK government) whether the introduction of a trade measure will result in positive returns for the UK economy as a whole.Evaluation work; using a range of econometric methods to determine whether existing trade measures in have achieved their intended objectives. Using and training in Excel, R studio, Stata and AI coding tools to conduct this broad range of analysis techniques.Market research and data collection. This forms the foundation for all of my analysis. Here the biggest focus is ensuring data is accurate and represents the entirety of the market. Communicating with colleagues across many departments. Explaining economic analysis to colleagues with less economic experience without reducing the accuracy of the work. Communicating with industry stake holders to ensure the scale of the impacts are fully accounted for in the analysis. See my 2 month update here:
