Undertake fault finding and identify the associated repair required· Undertake and provide support across the business for all condition monitoring and manually monitored systems on the train and its interfaces· Perform secondary checks of the work of colleagues (four-eyes principle)· Answer technical questions from colleagues and handle practical questions asked by the Client· Provide assistance and technical feedback to the RAMS / Performance Engineer and depot production teams on technical incidents, including Line of Route Technicians as required· Risk identification within own scope of works, assessment, provision of options to mitigate or resolve taking into account compliance with relevant legislation· Review and summarise faults, failures and actions taken by depot production teams as required by the RAMS / Performance Engineer· Provide mentoring and support for other members of the production team.· Produce high quality reports in relation to all in-service and other defects, both at system and component level, both in the business Maintenance Management System (SRMS or other) and general report writing, being either technical, non-technical or production related· Inform, negotiate and persuade their manager(s) and fellow colleagues to lead and support the development and implementation of improved systems and ways of working across the business· Observe all the rules and regulations related to health and safety practices, including a tidy workplace and disposing of substances with a high environmental impact· The post holder determines the best possible order of tasks to be performed in consultation with the (Shift) Production Manager, as well as how to work with the equipment available and the work instructions / maintenance list, based on knowledge and experience.

ABOUT DANIEL MAITLAND

Currently working as a System Technician for Stadler, based at Kirkdale. Carry out reliability improvement and fault diagnosis on the Class worked as a Rail Engineering Technician at Northern responsible for EMU and DEMU maintenance and reliability, and also worked as an Exam Team Leader at Arriva TrainCare, located in Crewe. Lead a team of 10 fitters specialising in rail vehicle exams and fault diagnosis/ rectification of DMU\'s, Locomotives and Coaching Stock, which include Class 150s, 153s, 156s, 158s, 170s, 67s, Mk4 coaching stock and 08/09 shunters. First started in rail rail industry as an Andon Engineer (Shift Supervisor) at Bombardier in Crewe. Specialising in Wheel sets overhaul and repair. Previously been an Aircraft Mechanic, with experience on Airbus A320, A321 + A330, Boeing 757 + 767, the Merlin Mk 2 Helicopter and the King Air Beechcraft. 5 years in the Royal Navy has equipped me with the skills needed to perform good quality work in a high intensity environment.Skilled in all aspects of aeronautical engineering (hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel, power plant, transmission, brake, radio, radar, flight controls, undercarriage systems etc). Remained current through annual training in Flight Safety, Human Factors, Line Emergency Procedures and Health + Safety, etc. My time as a Contractor for Morson/ Thomas Cook has taught me the commercial Aircraft industry, having performed A and C Checks on all Aircraft detailed above.
