Long-term unmet expectations in communication and relationships always lead to disappointment and resentment and will undermine team performance. Many leaders\' first instinct is to drive performance by introducing more processes, but decades of leadership science and experience leads me to start with relationships first. As a trusted advisor, I work with leaders to define the culture they need to create a sustainable, healthy, productive work environment. I help develop the necessary skills to lead and manage teams effectively through coaching and consulting. My expertise is working with STEM-related businesses. While highly skilled individuals are attracted to their field due to their collaborative nature, interest in how things work, innovation and problem-solving skills, they can focus on developing value through developing technical competence. As a result, I work with many technically excellent leaders who have been promoted to the point of incompetence, given a team to lead and no guidance on how to influence the behaviour of that team. With a track record of success working with leaders in FTSE 100, highly skilled STEM professionals, and even professional athletes, I am accomplished in accelerating leadership influence and building high-performing teams.
