ABOUT DANIEL HOLDSWORTH
I lead Software Engineering for Digital Growth, overseeing six global development teams and dedicated testing capability, including a specialised MVP test function. Operating across Europe and India, I set direction and create the structure needed to turn ideas into scalable, reliable products.Across multiple concurrent initiatives, I help define and drive the engineering strategy, working closely with Product and Delivery to ensure high-velocity, high-quality outcomes. With over 20 years as a hands-on developer, I bring a practical, engineering-led perspective to shaping technical strategy and delivery. This includes removing bottlenecks across the SDLC, improving engineering flow, and enabling teams to move quickly without compromising stability, security or compliance.My teams build and evolve full-stack, cloud-based systems using Azure.NET (C#), React, Python, APEX, with data platforms including PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Oracle. We take a pragmatic approach to technology, selecting the right tools for each problem and continuously evolving our architecture to support scalability, performance and maintainability.A key focus of our work is integrating AI into both our products and engineering practices. We design and deliver AI-enabled solutions leveraging LLMs and modern tooling, embedding intelligent capabilities directly into our products to enhance user experience, automate complex workflows, and unlock new value. Alongside this, we use AI to accelerate development, improve code quality, and support more effective problem-solving across teams, all within a highly regulated environment aligned to strict SOP and GAMP5 standards.At the heart of it, I’m a people-focused leader. I enjoy building strong, supportive teams, helping individuals grow, and creating an environment where engineers can do their best work.
