ABOUT DANIEL HANSON

I am an experienced energy trader and analyst with experience in North American power and gas markets.I currently manage a retail natural gas customer book, a storage book and a spec fundamentals book with views in cash through balance of next season. I have developed fundamental models for North American natural gas. Major accomplishments in this role include developing a weather-normalized supply-demand forecast with targeted EIA gas storage inventory and regional balances for pipelines. I have innovated bringing Python, cloud computing and machine-learning into our analytic toolsets and worked to improve visualizations using a variety of visualization tools. Regionally - have traded natural gas cash markets to optimize storage at AECO, Dawn, and physical transportation on Westcoast and Northern Border and Union/Enbridge and Vector pipelines. Other expertise include designs for asset-modelling, bi-lateral and ISO power scheduling and trading, risk measures and foreign exchange business process designs. I have built market and demand fundamentals models for north american natural gas markets and asset position management models for power assets in python, excel and VBA.
