ABOUT DANIEL GREENBERG
As General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for SAP Canada, I oversee the legal and contracts department, ensuring robust support for all SAP business operations across the region. Since joining SAP Canada in 1998 as Senior Legal Counsel and Associate General Counsel, I have been instrumental in various high-impact projects and transactions. My expertise spans structuring business process outsourcing transactions, application service provider arrangements, and numerous customer licensing agreements. In my current role, I play a pivotal part in SAP’s acquisition strategy, managing post-merger consolidation and integration of contracts and legal functions for acquired entities. Additionally, I lead the legal team responsible for transactions between SAP and its partner ecosystem in North America, ensuring seamless collaboration and compliance. My tenure at SAP has also seen me briefly serve as Acting Vice-President Mid-Market Sales for Central Canada, where I led my team to secure the first and largest global software license with a renowned Canadian car parts manufacturer. My career began in corporate commercial law with a focus on information technology, following my call to the Bar in Ontario. This early specialization exposed me to a diverse range of companies, including internet service providers, data miners, and software publishers, and involved transactions related to software licensing, technology transfer, and acquisition.I hold an undergraduate honours degree in Politics from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Ontario.
