About Daniel Giraldo
I am a Pre-Med Biology major and Spanish minor at Tufts University, set to graduate in May 2025. With a commitment to academic excellence, I have immersed myself in both scientific research and community service, striving to bridge gaps in healthcare access and cultural competency.My clinical research experience at Mount Sinai Hospital has allowed me to work closely with surgeons and research staff, analyzing data on vestibular function using EPIC, Meditech, and RStudio. Beyond research, I have hands-on experience in patient care—whether assisting nursing staff in a geriatric center in Costa Rica, supporting Nicaraguan immigrants in NYC as they navigate the healthcare system, or tutoring students with hearing disabilities in Madrid.As President of Tufts for Health Equity, I lead initiatives that support NGOs in Rwanda and Nepal through grant development and fundraising. I also have a strong foundation in synthetic biology, having contributed to Tufts’ iGEM team.Fluent in Spanish and skilled in clinical IT systems and R coding, I aim to integrate my medical training with global and public health efforts. I’m always eager to collaborate on projects related to healthcare research, immigrant advocacy, and medical innovation.
