His own research experience spans medicinal chemistry, including HIV Protease Inhibitors for AIDS. He was a member of the team which completed 3 licensing deals, resulting in 2 drugs for AIDS; Lexiva & Prezista. From 20••••12, served as President of the KC Area Life Sciences Institute, responsible for mobilizing regional efforts to transform the region into a center of excellence in life sciences. During his tenure, significant accomplishments included; Translational Research selected as one of the Greater KC Chamber’s Big 5 priorities; initiation of BioResearch Central to leverage the > 90 regional CROs; and establishment of the Center for Animal Health Innovation. From 20••••17, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Sucampo Pharmaceuticals & Chairman in 2014 & 2015. Previously an advisor to the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation’s (WARF) Accelerator Program to advance technology commercialization.
