Mentored over fifteen Drama trainee teachers during their training year, observing the teachers in practice, giving feedback and helping teachers learn skills in the classroom such as lesson planning, delivering feedback and embedding challenge and high expectations into lessons.• Developed the ‘training to teach’ curriculum for the Drama teachers, as well as organising and delivering regular subject studies sessions using current educational frameworks and pedagogical research to underpin this curriculum, and justified this in interviews with Ofsted during an inspection.

A highly experienced education professional with a First: BA Drama and English and American Literature focused in Drama & English and American Literature from University of Kent, and PGCE from the University of Brighton.I am an English and Drama Specialist with a history of working in the education industry. I have extensive experience at leading departments at secondary school level, devising and implementing curricula which fits around the National Curriculum, Middle Years Programme and IB Diploma Programme frameworks. I have led departments through successful Ofsted and IB inspections, having recently been graded as \'Outstanding\' in a 2022 Ofsted inspection while being Head of English, Drama and Literature & Performance at a achieving selective school. I have overseen impactful and purposeful curriculum overhauls which have had immediate success in achieving upwards grade shifting for students, and have given CPD to teachers about literacy, launching initiatives for a whole-school literacy programme. I also have worked with Trinity College to project manage the annual delivery the Bronze Arts Award to over 150 students annually, being one of the largest deliverers of this award in the country. I also have a strong background in teacher training and teacher recruitment, working with an Initial Teacher Training provider to support associate teachers training in Drama, providing high-quality training sessions, building a purposeful and inspiring curriculum and observing and mentoring training and newly qualified teachers. I am also a proud member of the Chartered College of Teaching. I have a passion for self-improvement as a teacher, taking part in research groups at school looking at evidence-based pedagogy, and attending ResearchED Kent events.I am a hard-working, ambitious, and self-motivated teacher who is driven by achieving high outcomes for all my students, and committed to embedding academic research into my practice.
