In my current role at Shell as a Senior Legal Counsel, I have had over four years of experience in providing counsel and compliance advice to Shell businesses in the US, Russia, Central Asia (namely Kazakhstan) and Latin America in matters relating to anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, tax evasion and trade controls and sanctions risks. I also serve as the US legal CFIUS focal point and advisor, providing our business and M&A deal teams with risk-based advice on relevant national security and regulatory filing implications of potential acquisitions and divestments in the US. I have been working in Shell\'s compliance organization for 15+ years. In my previous role as Ethics & Compliance Manager at Brunei Shell Petroleum Company, I was accountable for the implementation, communication, and management of the ethics and compliance program for the company and its joint ventures across the oil and gas value chain in the country. I led the first of its kind Energy Industry Integrity Pact in Brunei, joined by 40+ oil and gas companies and service providers and endorsed by the government. I also successfully led Brunei Shell Petroleum’s certification to the ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management Systems standard in 2018, the first company in Brunei and in the Shell Group to achieve this recognition. I am passionate about driving and advocating for collective action in the industry to promote and adopt integrity best practices, and delivering engaging reports, communications and presentations to boards, committees, senior executives, key stakeholders and staff at all levels. I have a strong background in enterprise risk management, development and implementation of compliance programs and policies, providing sound legal advice on various corporate compliance matters, investigations management, and business ethics. I graduated from South Texas College of Law and University of St Thomas in Houston, Texas, and I am fluent in Spanish and English. I am also a Certified Compliance Ethics Professional-International (CCEP-I) and a member of the Texas Bar Association\'s Corporate Counsel and International Law Sections.
