I have seen your email and i need your help!” was the first sentence from an unknown voice on an unrecognised mobile number. A food manufacturing business had their engineering manager recently leave the business and it up to the Engineering supervisor to keep the department functioning and organised until a new manager was employed. Unfortunately during the same period 3 maintenance engineering vacancies had arisen. This caused huge problems with production! The engineering staff rota’s were becoming increasingly difficult to manage which meant wasting hours of time The cost of overtime was becoming a problem. This meant Pressure from above and the problem had to be sorted Asap The Stress the covering supervisor was going through was intense. It was affecting his performance and mindset at work. He had published his own advert for the positions, after going through dozens and dozens of CV’s and using up hours of his already stretched time he still couldn\'t find the right calibre of candidates. It was fair to say he didn’t really know where to turn. The supervisor then gave me a call following an email I had forwarded. We spoke in detail about the roles he needed filling and he explained that he hadn’t directly used recruitment agencies. After a conversation that lasted 45 minutes I felt I had a good understanding of what he was looking for and made me really want to help. Over the next couple of days I managed to source and interview candidates and after sending the 3 candidates I thought were the best fit, they all went in for interviews and all 3 were offered the position. This Saved time & money. Now he had this positions filled stressed was reduced. He could get back to his normal daily duties, he could stop worrying!
