Health Disparities Clinical Cancer Research Group @Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
Clinical cancer research in affiliation with Memorial Sloan Kettering through Dr. Edward Christopher Dee research group and associated global oncologists. This research group centers on the health disparities faced by cancer patients around the world with a focus on Southeast Asia and the Philippines. My first project focused on National Cancer Control Plans (NCCPs) in Southeast Asia. Beyond this project, I will contribute to multiple research initiatives that explore a broad range of issues, such as the political determinants of health, discovering the impacts of health disparities between various minority groups.

ABOUT DANIEL DIETRICH
MS1 at LKSOM at Temple University. Recently graduated in the BA/MA combined program in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology/Biotechnology and Kilachand Honors College in the Class of 2025 at Boston University. Graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 in both the Bachelor\'s and Master\'s Degrees. Recognized as a top scholar and researcher through the BMB program and represented the BMB Class of 2025 as the Commencement Speaker at the BMB convocation. My main research initiative has been a focus on CRISPR-Cas9 technology, using its natural activity to study DNA Double-Strand Breaks, important lesions in DNA that have implications in human medicine and health. Furthermore, different research topics have been explored including drug discovery about lead optimization, AlphaFold3 research, and clinical health disparities research in Southeast Asia. Apart from research, working as a clinical volunteer at the MGH pediatric hematology/oncology clinic has helped foster a passion for working with patients. Outside of academia, I have enjoyed competing through tennis and playing piano for leisure.
