Daniel Berg has 25+ years of experience in IT with an emphasis on designing and delivering cloud-native solutions incorporating his strengths in DevOps processes and solution architecture. Daniel is an Architect at Oracle Cloud (OCI) where he is responsible for driving the technical direction and vision for the OCI container platform (including the Oracle Cloud Kubernetes Engine). Not only does Daniel help shape the overall technical direction but he is also responsible for ensuring that these services work harmoniously together and with the other OCI services to provide an excellent user experience.Prior to joining Oracle, Daniel was the SVP and Chief Architecture at Digital.ai where he was responsible for the overall technical architecture of the Digital.ai Platform with a focus of moving the entire portfolio to the cloud. Doing so required establishing a platform to centralize services and to provide an integrated experience. Developing the Digital.ai Platform required establishing the foundational capabilities necessary to run any small to large enterprise in the cloud as well as move legacy on-premises products to containers and ultimately multi-tenant services within the cloud. Many of the challenges that Daniel had to overcome were the same that he had overcome earlier in his career and they are common amongst other organizations looking to move their business to the cloud.Prior to joining Digital.ai, Daniel was an IBM Distinguished Engineer where he had a long and impressive career. One key achievement was the establishment of a DevOps product suite as well as infuse DevOps best practices across IBM. While the list of achievements is long, Dan is well respected for designing and leading an incredible team to build and operate the Kubernetes Service in IBM Cloud (IKS). Daniel continued his long IBM career working in areas that he loves such as cloud, containers, and DevOps. Beyond technical work, Daniel has a passion for building highly effective development teams that know how to deliver solutions and not just promises. Daniel continues in his technical endeavors to build strong teams delivering awesome solutions to complicated problems.
