About Daniel Burke

I’m a critical care physician who left a full-time academic faculty and ICU director role to advance the safe, effective application of AI in clinical care. Today, I spend one week a month covering ICUs and the rest of my time leading clinical operations at health tech companies. Since 2015, I’ve been a clinical or medical director at 5+ digital health startups operating in predictive analytics, AI development, data registry design, and telemedicine. I am currently evaluating large language models for clinical use at Mercor and running clinical operations at BauHealth and TribeHealth. I’m certified by the American Board of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (ABAIM) and I’ve published ML research, including a validated predictive model for respiratory failure in patients with COVID-19.What I care about most is making clinical AI achieve meaningful outcomes for patients. I have an MD and an MBA. I live in Brooklyn with my two kids. I’m always open to connecting with founders building in clinical AI, digital health operators, VCs investing in the space, and physicians thinking about a non-traditional path.
