KEY RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES: Local & regional Relations & Awareness to achieve mission and goals of SOH. Acts to maintain highly effective community relations with individuals, corporations, and churches. Develops, executes, and measures effectiveness of Literacy Character Connection programs. Assures development and implementation of marketing programs to support community awareness, program participation and fundraising. Administers orientation and training programs for Board members as appropriate. Maintains open lines of communications and cultivates a relationship with each board member. Works with the Board of Directors to raise public awareness of the Organization.KEY STAFF RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES: General Administration Mission and visioning long-term goals and program planning to execute. Recommends policies to the Board and/or assists the Board in the formulation of policies for the effective and economical operation of the Organization. Day-to Day operations, financial & grant management, grant writing, personnel management, planning and evaluation, community relations, fund development, board relations, facility management, program development and over site. Ensures implementation of policies adopted by the Board. Assures maintenance of databases and on-going communication with all constituencies, including donors, program participants etc. Assures preparation of annual budget and is accountable for control of these resources, once approved. Recruits, hires, and provides necessary training resources for new hires. Supervises and directs key staff, including members in the performance of their duties; Evaluates the performance of key staff member(s); and provides overall control and direction for the personnel function relative to budget availability and board approval other duties as assigned or necessary for the accomplishment of the objectives of the Organization.
