About Daniel Attaway
I\'m Daniel Attaway. I am a partner in Womble Bond Dickinson (US)’s Wilmington, Delaware office and have practice law for over fifteen years. After I graduated law school in 2008, I started my legal career at Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz, also in Wilmington. In 2012, I moved with my group to Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice (now Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP), where I was made partner in 2018. Since I started practicing law, I have helped clients secure and enforce their intellectual property rights, and have defended clients accused of infringement by non-practicing entities. Much of my practice has been focused in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, with an emphasis on cases involving Abbreviated New Drug Application (\"ANDA\") litigation under the Hatch-Waxman Act. I also have experience coordinating and managing large scale electronic discovery. As part of this, I have taken and defended depositions of key fact and experts for various litigations and have been part of the trial team for both trials and appeals. I also have experience in managing overseas discovery in Europe and Asia (including China, Hong Kong, and Korea).Over my career, I have been recognized as a Delaware Rising Start in Intellectual Property Litigation from 2017-19 and have been named to the IAM Patent for Litigation since 2019 (including being listed at the bronze level for litigation in Delaware. I have also been named as one of the top 500 leading litigators in America for intellectual property litigation by Lawdragon in 2024 and named one of the best lawyers in America for biotechnology and life sciences in 2025 by Best Lawyers.I am also involved in various law-related activities. For example, I am currently the co-chair of the firm\'s LGBTQ+ affinity group and a member of the firm\'s Mansfield committee. in 2024, I participated in Diversity Lab\'s third Diversity Hackathon. In addition, I have served on the Delaware Supreme Court\'s study looking at increasing diversity in the Delaware Bench and Bar. In 2023, I was appointed by the Delaware Supreme Court to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Delaware Law Related Education Center, Inc.(\"DELREC\"), which seeks to teach civics and the law to all students in Delaware. I currently serve as president of DELREC\'s board. I also serve on the board of directors for the National High School Mock Trial Championship and am in my fourth year as program director for the Richard S. Rodney Inn of Court.
