About Daniel Alika Chun
My wife and I recently moved from Hawaii to Atlanta, GA for her medical residency program as an MD. As a result, I decided to use our move as an opportunity to pursue a new career. In Progress - CPA Candidate Far Exam - Automation of Existing Business Workflows (Excel Macro & VBA, Python, Selenium)- Developing Software Engineering Skills During my time with First Hawaiian Bank (FHB), it seemed clear that innovation and technology will continue to be at the forefront of strategic drivers for companies to meet their goals. In addition, I draw inspiration from those who pursue innovation and science to make a meaningful and positive impact on our world. As a result, I have been motivated to make a career change. I am currently proficient in using Javascript, Python, SQL, CSS, and HTML. While the banking industry may not have been the right career path for me, I feel I obtained and accomplished as much as I possibly could in 5 short years. During this time, I was identified as an emerging leader, held five different positions (Legal Intern, Teller, Customer Service Rep, Personal/Small Business Banker, Credit Analyst/Underwriter), obtained numerous awards, enrolled and graduated from First Hawaiian Bank\'s 1-year intensive leadership training program, and obtained an MBA with a focus in accounting. Most importantly, I worked with the most recognized and highly motivated teams within the organization who were skilled in their ability to work together and drive towards the strategic goals of the company. Below is a list of my most notable personal accomplishments achieved during my five years with First Hawaiian Bank. Accomplishments- 5 promotions (Legal intern, Teller, Customer Service Rep, Personal/Small Business Banker, and Credit Analyst/Underwriter.)- MBA, Focus in Accounting (3.7 GPA)- First Hawaiian Bank (FHB) Emerging Leaders 2020 graduate (12 students out of 2100, admission include manager recommendation, application, and an executive interview)- 2018 President\'s Club Award Winner: Demonstrated the ability to develop client relationships and provide suitable banking solutions. Recorded over 10 million in bank products-As a credit analyst/underwriter, I provided commercial loan analyses and underwriting for the banks largest customers. Ranging from $50K to over $50 million- Community: During my time with First Hawaiian Bank, I coordinated and headed various community care projects and have held external non-profit board roles.
