About Daniel Acosta Chaves

I am a recent graduate from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in Cognitive Science. I also have Minors in both Philosophy and Disaster Management. My interdisciplinary studies largely focused on Artificial Intelligence, Data Analysis, Neuroscience, and Linguistics.During my time at the University, I utilized these focuses in my undergraduate research and career interests to analyze public policy through research software and programs. Specifically, I combined my core technical skills and knowledge of risk analysis in platforms like R and Python to examine effectivity of hazard mitigation strategies.Currently, I am a Research and Data Analyst Intern at World Tree Inc. As an intern at this company, I organize field data using research platforms, GIS, and GenAI to streamline consultation in the Forestry and Natural Resources Department. For my future career plans, I intend to expand my work as a data analyst in both policy and general research analysis. Academically, I will later be exploring opportunities in and out of the country to pursue a master\'s in a related field.Outside my career interests, I am a drummer and love playing/writing music as a creative outlet, releasing an EP on Spotify just a few months ago. I also enjoy camping and hiking national parks across the US.
