ABOUT DANICA RADOVANOVIĆ

I am Dr. Danica Radovanović, a digital transformation expert, policy specialist, and advocate for human-centric technology, with over 15 years of international experience advancing digital inclusion across the Global South and North. My work bridges research, policy, and practice to empower vulnerable communities through equitable access to technology. Currently, I serve as Senior Researcher at the Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences (GESIS), where I explore digital media platforms, youth online behavior, and identity formation. Previously, as a PhD Chevening Scholar at the Oxford Internet Institute and Child Online Protection expert at the UN’s International Telecommunication Union (ITU), I helped develop national strategies for online safety across Asia-Pacific countries. I am the author and editor of “Digital Literacy and Inclusion: Stories, Platforms, Communities” (Springer, 2024) and a longtime board member of the International Child Art Foundation. Over the years, I have collaborated with organizations such as ITU, UN FAO, UNICEF, Wikimedia, and Google, while also mentoring emerging scholars and fostering international research networks. My mission is to build a more equitable, responsible and resilient digital future. I believe that access to the internet, open access to information and education, and digital literacy are essential human rights. danicar.info | Digital Serendipities on Substack: digitalserendipities.substack.com
