As a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) consultant for the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), I provide specialized technical assistance and professional development to nursing schools nationwide.My role includes delivering tailored workshops, fireside chats, webinars, and presentations, as well as offering individualized consultations to address each institution\'s unique needs. Working closely with AACN, I assess schools\' current practices and design targeted sessions that tackle specific challenges and advance their goals.Through partnerships with institutions, I help develop strategic initiatives that confront systemic inequities and foster diverse representation in nursing programs. Leading workshops that draw from the latest scholarly literature, AACN resources, and my own expertise, I aim to cultivate inclusive, equity-focused educational environments.Each engagement supports AACN\'s mission to dismantle barriers faced by historically excluded groups. By advising on curriculum development that integrates diverse perspectives and antiracism principles, I assist institutions in creating policies and practices that uphold equity. Together with AACN, I contribute to national initiatives that reimagine nursing education with equity and inclusion at the forefront.My goal is to prepare nursing programs not only to educate but to empower a diverse generation capable of addressing society’s complex needs. By embedding principles of antiracism, cultural humility, and structural competency, I support institutions in building curricula that prepare future nurses to deliver compassionate, informed care. My efforts aim to inspire meaningful change across nursing schools nationwide, fostering a profession that is both clinically excellent and socially just.
