As a former Senior Counsel in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission\'s (SEC) Enforcement Division and the Co-Chair of Katten’s Securities Enforcement Defense Practice, I defend clients facing SEC and other government and self-regulatory (SRO) enforcement matters, including informal inquiries, formal investigations, parallel criminal proceedings and litigations from inception through negotiation or trial. Having recently rejoined the private sector after more than a decade with the SEC, I advise public and private companies and individuals on SEC-related matters of all types, including suspected financial and disclosure fraud; insider trading; Ponzi schemes and other offering frauds; alleged misconduct by auditors, broker-dealers, and investment advisors; and violations in areas of new interest to the SEC, including ESG, cybersecurity, crypto assets and AI. My practice also focuses on internal, special committee and non-SEC government and regulatory investigations; securities class action defense; and complex economic litigation.
