ABOUT DANELLE LITTLES SANDERS
At the age of six, I decided to become an educator. I did not know or understand the job, but I knew I would be a teacher. Throughout my education, I never strayed from the thought of being an educator. I knew deep in my heart that this had to be my purpose. With over 18 years of experience, I have had vast opportunities to grow personally and professionally. I have been an elementary, middle, and high school teacher, District English Language Arts Coach, Assistant Principal, District Administrator, Instructional Coach, Reading Specialist, and Education Consultant. In every role, I continued to build my expertise in research-based teaching practices, curriculum design, training and development, diversity and inclusion, and leadership. I have a passion for education that encompasses a love of learning, building capacity in adult learners, advocating for parents and families, and improving student achievement-My skills and abilities have afforded me leadership opportunities to develop classroom teachers and school-based coaches in seven schools that improved student proficiency and learning gains based on state assessments-I monitored 72 schools’ implementation of a Parent Engagement Liaison position to bridge the communication gap between homes and schools and support schools with developing welcoming environments for families and the community-As a business owner, I have recruited, advised, and instructed over 40 students in ongoing individualized instruction that yielded 100% learning gains or proficiency-I am often asked to be a guest speaker for educational panels, conferences, and community events on various topics that impact student achievement, parent and family engagement, and life beyond graduating high school and college.Working with students and adults feeds my soul and perpetuates my desire to make an impact on those I come into contact with. I believe that education is not just about academic success, but also about instilling a love of learning, building relationships, and preparing students for life beyond the classroom.
