ABOUT DAN BRADBURY
Dan Bradbury has over 40 years of public library administrative experiencece and now 14 years of executive search services experience. In 2003 he retired after 20 years as Director of the Kansas City Public Library and began working with Gossage Sager Associates, eventually buying the firm with his wife, Jobeth, and reorganizing it as Bradbury Miller Associates. During his tenure in Kansas City he led the reorganization/rebuilding of the Library\'s branch system, separated the Library from the School District and established it as an independent taxing district, negotiated two public/private partnerships for the creation of new facilities and initiated the capital campaign and construction projects for a new Central Library. Prior to coming to Kansas City, he served as library director in Janesville (WI), director of the Rolling Hills Consolidated Library in St. Joseph, Missouri, and as associate director in Waco (TX). Among honors and awards received throughout his career, Library Journal named him \"Librarian of the Year for 1991\", University of Missouri at Kansas City honored him with an Alumni Acheivement Award for 2001, and in 2003 the Greater Kansas City Council on Philanthrophy named him \"Non-Profit Executive of the Year.\" Specialties: Executive search for libraries, strategic and financial planning, library governance, executive evaluation and compensation, and board relations.
